Dental emergency calls, routed by your rules

A knocked-out tooth at 9 p.m. can’t wait for Monday’s voicemail. Your AI receptionist listens for the situations you define, routes them to your on-call dentist with the patient’s own words, and never gives clinical advice.

How an urgent dental call is handled

  1. Listen for your criteria

You define what’s urgent — for example severe pain, swelling, bleeding that won’t stop, or a knocked-out tooth.

  2. Route, don’t advise

Matching calls go to your on-call dentist by transfer or instant alert. The AI repeats no clinical guidance it hasn’t been given.

  3. Fall back safely

If the on-call dentist doesn’t answer, it follows your backup rule. Anyone describing a medical emergency is told to call 911.

Dental emergency call FAQs

Does the AI decide whether something is a dental emergency?
No. It matches what the caller says against criteria you set, and routes accordingly. It doesn’t assess or interpret symptoms.
Will it give patients advice, like what to do with a knocked-out tooth?
Only instructions your dentists have written and approved for that situation. Otherwise it routes the call without advice.
How does it reach our on-call dentist?
By live transfer or instant text and email, with the caller’s name, number and words. You choose which.
What if the on-call dentist doesn’t answer?
It follows your backup rule — a second contact, a priority message, or a callback commitment you approve.
When does it tell callers to call 911?
When a caller describes a medical emergency, such as trouble breathing or uncontrolled bleeding. That rule is always on.
Can urgent patients be booked into same-day slots?
Yes. During office hours it can book reserved emergency slots and alert your front desk.
Is every emergency call recorded?
Yes. Each call is recorded, transcribed and summarized, so you have a complete record of what was said and what happened.
How long does setup take?
About five business days, including call flows, routing rules, integration and testing. You can try it free for 7 days.
