Virtual receptionist pricing, without the plan
Virtual receptionist pricing usually means a monthly plan: a set number of minutes or calls, whether you use them or not, and extra charges when you go over. 365vox charges $0.75 for each minute a caller is on the line, billed by the second. Here’s what a virtual receptionist costs under each model, at real call volumes.
How virtual receptionist pricing works
Four pricing models, and what each one means for your monthly bill.
| Item | How it works | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Per-minute plan (call center) | A monthly price for a set number of minutes. Published 2026 plans start at about $250 for 50 minutes. | Calls rounded up to whole minutes, unused minutes lost, and about $4.00 to $5.40 for each extra minute |
| Per-call plan (call center) | A monthly price for a set number of calls. Published 2026 plans start at about $290 for 30 calls. | A 20-second wrong number can count as a full call, and about $7.50 to $10.50 for each extra call |
| Flat monthly AI subscription | A monthly fee for an AI receptionist, often with a cap on minutes or calls. | What happens past the cap, and which features cost extra |
| Pay as you go (365vox) | $0.75 for each minute a caller is on the line, billed by the second. No plan. | Nothing to round up and nothing to go over: the bill follows your calls |
Call-center figures are published plan prices of two well-known US live virtual receptionist services, as reported by cloudtalk.io (August 31, 2026) and fast.io (June 27, 2026), read October 14, 2026. Prices change, so check with each service.

365vox virtual receptionist, per month
$188
An estimate from the numbers above, not a guarantee. 365vox: $0.75 USD a minute, billed by the second, with no plan or minimum. The call-center figure bills each call up to the next whole minute (about half a minute more per call on average) and leaves out plan minimums, unused minutes and extra fees. Talk it through with us.

Hidden virtual receptionist costs: what to ask
The monthly price is only part of the bill. These questions show the rest.
Is there a setup fee or a contract?
Some services charge to set up your script or ask for a long commitment. 365vox has no setup fee and no long-term contract.
How are short calls billed?
Wrong numbers, hang-ups and quick questions add up. Ask whether a 20-second call counts as a full minute or a full call. With 365vox, it costs 25¢.
What happens to minutes I don’t use?
On most plans they don’t carry over. With pay as you go, there’s nothing to waste.
What does going over cost?
Overage is usually charged for each extra minute or call. 365vox has one rate, however many calls you get.
Are nights, weekends and holidays included?
Check whether the plan covers every hour or only staffed hours. 365vox answers every hour at the same rate.
What do I get after each call?
A message, or a full record? With 365vox, every call has a summary, the recording and the full transcript.
Illustrative example
After-hours calls for a property management office
A five-person property management office answers its own phones from 9 to 5. About 80 calls a month come in after hours: maintenance problems, showing requests and rent questions.
- Calls after 5 p.m. and on weekends forwarded to the virtual receptionist
- Urgent maintenance put through to the on-call manager
- Showing requests and routine questions handled on the call
- Each call emailed to the office with its summary and transcript
The numbers, worked out
- After-hours calls a month
- 80
- 365vox: 80 × 2.2 min × $0.75
- $132.00
- Call-center plan, 200 minutes plus overage
- $790.40
Illustrative, not a customer’s results. It assumes 80 calls averaging 2.2 minutes, and a published 2026 per-minute plan of $720 a month for 200 minutes, then $4.40 a minute, with each call billed up to the next whole minute (about half a minute more per call).
